Logo Design Studio for Mac and Yosemite Issues

We are aware of the issues that are present in Logo Design Studio when using the product on your Mac.

Certain changes in the Operating System has caused our program to function incorrectly.

It does work for some customers just fine, but for those customers for who its not working we are working on a fix.

Since this is a quite complex product the development time is taking longer than expected and we hope to have it resolved shortly.

Now, we may have a solution for you, While it may not be the one you are looking for, it has helped numerous customers, so here goes...

If you have a Windows machine, we can provide you with a free version of our main flagship product, Logo Design Studio Pro for Windows.

The Windows version of Logo Design Studio Pro has alot more Logo Templates and Thousands of more Logo Objects as compared to the Mac Version

If you want to use this on your Windows machine so that your work may not be impeded by our development time required to update Logo Design Studio for mac, please follow the directions below:

 

Replace your Logo Design Studio for Mac Purchase with Windows Version of Logo Design Studio 

1.  Email support@summitsoft.com with the subject of "Need Windows Version"

2.  Send a picture of your receipt or a picture of the retail box or your order number so we can verify purchase.

3.  We'll email you a new License Key and a link to download the Windows version of Logo Design Studio Pro 

 

In case you do not have a Windows Machine, at this time we can offer you a refund for the Mac version purchase or wait for an update to the product.

Logo Design Studio Pro is available in a Disc and Download format.  

If your computer does not have a CD-ROM Drive, then please download the following version of Logo Design Studio Pro ESD version from the link below:

We have converted it to a Short URL for your conveniance:

This version of Logo Design Studio Pro is v1.7.1 and requires a newer style serial number.  If your purchased serial number starts with "LDSV-...", then you need to request a new serial number.

1. Send an email to support@summitsoft.com with the subject of "Need Replacement Serial Number"

2. Type in your current LDSV-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx serial number into the body of hte email so we can transfer the license.

3. A new license will be issued as soon as possible which will work on the ESD version of Logo Design Studio Pro .

When installing Graphic Design Studio I get a warning about unide...

This most likely means your security settings for Apple’s Gatekeeper are set only for Apple developed applications. To change this, open System Preferences on your Mac then:Go to Security & Privacy, the General tab. Click the lock at the bottom left of the window to make changes, then choose either the “Mac App Store and identified developers” or “Anywhere” setting in the Allow applications downloaded from section. Then click the lock again to save the settings. Try opening the application again.

You can launch the font manager within Graphic Design Studio by clicking on the text tab at the top, select fonts, then click on Show Fonts. The shortcut will be Command + T

Common Fixes for Logo Design Studio Activation Issues

In some rare cases the activation of Logo Design Studio Pro may fail. If this should happen to you please follow the procedures below: 

The most common reason is the Windows or Anti-Virus Firewall is blocking the activation connection. 

  1. Pause or temporarily turn off your Windows Firewall. Select your operating system if you need help on accomplishing this task: Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10
  2. Pause of temporarily turn off your Anti-Virus Software. Select your software for help on accomplishing this task: Avast Antivirus, Kaspersky 2015, Webroot, BitDefender, F-Secure.
  3. Try running Logo Design Studio Pro in Admin mode: Right click on the software shortcut, and select 'Run as administrator'.

How to request a New Serial number for Logo Design Studio Pro v1.7.1 through v1.7.3

1. Send an email to LDSVSerial@summitsoft.com with the subject of "Need Replacement Serial Number"

2. Type in your current LDSV-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx serial number into the body of the email so we can transfer the license.

3. A new license will be issued as soon as possible which will work on the ESD version of Logo Design Studio Pro v1.7.1 through v1.7.3

Restoring a Website Creator Project from Backup

  1. Open Website Creator.
  2. On the main screen of the program open the Preference Window by choosing "Preferences" on the side menu

    3. A new window will appear where you can verify if the option to create a backup file when you save or open the preview is activated.
    4. Start File Explorer and open the path you previously found in the Preferences. You will find as many folders as many projects so make sure you open the folder for your websites project.
    5. Inside the folder Backup you need to select one of the files which you want to restore.The files name will be similar to this "uploaded_20130624115544.iwprj" (20130624115544 stands for year-month-day-minute-seconds).
    6. Rename the selected file into "project.iwprj".
    7. Copy the renamed file "project.iwprj".
    8. Paste the file into the previous folder. It will replace the old project file. You should now be able to open it to select the project again and to open it.

How to Request a New License Key for Graphic Design Studio v1.7.1 through v1.7.3

  1. Send an email to GDSLicense@summitsoft.com with the subject of "Need Replacement License Key"
  2. Type in your current serial number (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-x format) into the body of the email so we can transfer the license.
  3. Download the lastest version (1.7.7) here.
  4. A new license will be issued as soon as possible which will work on the downloaded versions 1.7.6 and later.
  5. Check your spam folder

Due to a change in licensing software, Summitsoft and Macware Inc no longer licenses software via email or any offline activation.

If you have a license key in one of the following formats:

  • LDSV-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx or
  • xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-x 

follow the instructions here to obtain a new license key.

For all other licensing issues please submit a ticket or email support@summitsoft.com
